The Community Center is located on three acres of land at one end of Leilani Circle. The Center is a two-story building consisting of over 3,000 square feet in each story. 

Although no mortgage exists on the 3-acre lot and 6,000 square foot building, insurance (fire, liability and Directors) accounts for 40% ($10,000) of the annual operating budget. Utilities, office/cleaning supplies, and maintenance of the 30-year old building (painting, electrical and plumbing) account for the remaining expenses. There is no operating budget for staff..

People confuse the Ocean View Community Center with tax-supported public centers run by Hawaii County. In fact, the community center is a PRIVATE facility, owned by the membership of Ocean View Community Association, Inc. (OVCA).  As such, the Board of Directors has a fiduciary responsibility to make the best decisions possible to cover the $25,000 annual budget.
